Aurelia BOOK ONE - Prelude It is said that when the sky rained the sons of Heaven down onto man (Genesis 6:2), and took his daughters as their wives, they together bore a race called the Nephilim – strong, tall, fierce humanoids about three times the size of man. With their bloodline being of fallen angels, the Nephilim possessed surreal powers that awed the pure bloodlines (those generations of man who had no fallen angels in them), which not only included the spontaneous production of fire, but also the incredible strength to slaughter a legion of men (as the legend says). The Nephilim built the City of Ombradesh in the South. God saw this, and furious enough from his angels deceiving him, he told the Nephilim that if they possessed any good in them, they would go to the North. Reluctantly, a few obeyed. As the years past the North Nephilim separated themselves completely with the South Nephilim, asking God for forgiveness for the evil they did, and declared the ones who stayed in the South as their “Evil Brothers”. God forgave them, and were thereby known as the Giants, who were not ruled by greed, power, and lust, as their brothers were, but by humble compassion and logic. The Giants built Manyleave, and in their effort to create a humble place to live and worship God they roamed the Northern mountainous lands, gathering the seeds of all sorts of plants and trees, setting them in the soil of their home for them to grow into a vast forest of tall greens. In the Middleland, however, things weren''t so humble. The Purebloods – later known as Man - and the South Nephilim – later known as Ogres – clashed together in a mosh pit of gruesome battles and wars when the Ogres were charging for the North and ran into Man. So many countless lives were lost during the long decades of war that the Middleland became known as the Bloodland. Both races lived by greed, power, and lust, and now at each other''s throat the many tribes of Man and clans of Ogres found themselves at a constant war and struggle for survival. Though both were seemingly innately evil, the Ogres were far worse, for in them God saw no room for good. In their enemy, however, who was smaller but more intelligent, there was a wink of hope. And so, God took one man high up into the Heavens And sat him down atop a cloud. And the LORD said: “The Purebloods are not as corrupt as the Ogres, and I have seen this. My angels have fallen from My home And corrupted Man into a disgusting race of evil and greed, And if they continue to live Then so will all of the world be evil. And if all of the world be evil Then to the depths of Hell and the armies of Lucifer Shall their fate be given.” And the Man, called Aurel, Spoke to God and said: “My Lord, my God, I have not sinned. I wish not to have power, or to lust, but to live. By Your word, and Your love.” And God trusted Aurel, seeing good in his words, And told him: “Then back to the earth you shall go, And raise an army in My name. This army shall be of all the tribes of Man, And through unity you shall defeat the mortal Ogres And send their souls to Hell, Where they shall be in eternity punished for their Evil.” Aurel rose up from his tribe, the Dead Oak, and told them that God had spoken to him. He told them what God had told him, and they listened. Aurel''s first task would be to assemble the best fighters from all of Bloodland and tell them that the armies of Ombradesh must fall, for that was the will of God. The young men, women and children would all be grouped together with wagons of supplies and food and escorted by a handful of fighters to the North. Aurel was wary of the Giants but did not fear them, for they knew they were the better of the Brothers. And thus it all begins...
